About Us

Richard Townley, M.D.
Dr. Townley completed his residency in pediatrics at Butterworth Hospital (now Helen DeVos Children's Hospital) before his fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at Henry Ford Hospital.  He holds a clinical appointment through Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and  frequently has medical students and residents rotating through the office.  He has  been selected as a member of "Outstanding Doctors in America" for many years.  He enjoys playing baritone saxophone with the Forest Hills Adult Community Band, and with his church Praise Band.

Thomas Miller, M.D.
Dr. Miller completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan.   His fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology was completed at Northwestern University, including time at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago.  He holds an appointment through Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and a master's degree in Epidemiology. He has been involved in asthma research in high-risk children and adults, and has presented his research locally as well as internationally.  Dr. Miller has been asked to lecture nationally, and  has also written articles on a variety of allergy related topics, including high-risk asthma and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.   Dr. Miller has taught  Applications of Epidemiology and Biostatistics to second-year  medical students at the MSU medical school in Grand Rapids.    He has been named "Tops in GR" in his field, a  distinction featured in the Grand Rapids Press.  In his spare time,  Dr. Miller is involved in distance running, having competed in several marathons, including the Boston Marathon.

Erin J. Gibson, P.A.-C
Erin Gibson, who joined the practice in 2008, is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.  She was born and raised on Michigan's east side, but moved west to attend GVSU.  She has over a decade of  experience in allergies and asthma, and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.  Erin and her husband have three young children who keep them very busy with school and extracurricular activities.  As a family they enjoy spending time outdoors, especially attending sporting events, going on family bike rides, fishing and visiting the many beaches of Lake Michigan.

Staff
Our clinical staff is composed of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants.  All are trained in the duties specific to the field of allergy, and are cross-trained for the various patient-care responsibilities within the office.

Our clerical staff members maintain the reception  area, as well as scheduling appointments and directing calls to other office staff, including our triage nurse, extract nurse,  and billing and transcription specialists.
