Your First Appointment
Evaluation of allergies and involves taking a thorough history and performing a physical examination. Patients may or may not be allergy tested based on these findings. Testing can done by blood tests, skin tests, and even ingesting suspected medications or foods under medical supervision. Evaluation of asthma involves performing pulmonary function testing. Medications It is our goal to provide each patient with a detailed and thorough evaluation of his or her complaint. Some medications need to be avoided for at least three days (72 hours) prior to testing in order to achieve accurate testing results. These include:
It can be equally important to continue certain medications. These include inhalers used to treat asthma, as well as prednisone and plain decongestants (Sudafed). If you have questions regarding certain medications, please contact our office prior to your scheduled appointment. |
