Telemedicine

AAWM is now able to offer Telemedicine visits through our Patient Portal!

In order to participate in this type of visit, patients must be registered for the Patient Portal .

  • Please note that if you are registering for yourself and someone else (for example, yourself and your child), you will need to provide a unique email for each person being registered.
  • These visits will be billed to your insurance carrier in the same way an in-office visit would, and there may be out-of-pocket costs involved, such as co-pays. We encourage you to contact your insurance carrier to determine your eligibility prior to being evaluated.
  • In-office visits are required for patients who are planning to receive injections the same day, require any type of testing or are due for spirometry, or are experiencing uncontrolled asthma symptoms.

For patients using a personal computer:

You will need access to a computer with an internet connection, a microphone, and a webcam.

  1. At the time of your appointment, log in to your Patient Portal through your internet browser.
  2. Select the green video icon at the top of your screen. This will launch telemedicine in a new window.
  3. At your appointment time, a green "Start Visit" button will appear. Click "Start Visit" to begin the visit.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the intake forms then click "Proceed" to enter the virtual waiting room.
  5. Once the doctor is ready to see you, your video appointment will begin.
  6. When the visit has been completed, you will be able to view and download a summary of your visit.


For patients using a mobile device:

You will first need to download the mobile app

Download the iPhone App

  1. To install this FREE app, go to the Apple APP store and search for TeleMMD.
  2. Click on the GET button, then follow the prompts to INSTALL.
  3. Once installed, click OPEN or the TeleMMD APP from your HOME screen to open the APP.
  4. Use the same Username and Password you were assigned for the Patient Portal to log in.
  5. Now you can start using your mobile version of the TeleMMD.

Download the Android App

  1. To install this FREE app, go to the Google Play APP store and search for TeleMMD.
  2. Select the TeleMMD APP , then click the INSTALL button.
  3. Once installed, click OPEN or the TeleMMD APP from your HOME screen to open the APP.
  4. Use your same Username and Password you were assigned for the Patient Portal to log in.
  5. Now youcan start using your Android verion of the TeleMMD APP.

Using the TeleMMD APP

  1. At the time of your apointment, launch the TeleMMD APP from your mobile device.
  2. Log in to the TeleMMD application using the same User ID or email address and password that you have been assigned for the Patient Portal.
  3. At the time of your scheduled appointment, click the green "Details" button that appears under your name.
  4. Find your scheduled appointment time under your "Upcoming" visits. When you are ready to see your provider, select the green "Start Visit" under your scheduled time.
  5. Select "Video" as your Communication Method. Then click "Next."
  6. Click "Give Access." When prompted, click "OK" or "Allow" to allow TeleMMD access to your Microphone and Camera. Then click "Next."
  7. Click "Check audio and video." Make sure your Camera and Microphone are switched to ON. If the audio and video check is successful, the following text will appear: "You're all set! Your provider will see and hear you." When finished click "Done" and then "Next."
  8. Enter a phone number where you can be reached if you are disconnected or the provider has additional questions following the video visit. Then click "Use this number."
  9. Follow the prompts to complete the intake forms and acknowledge and agree to the terms of the "Consent to Treat" form. Once you have completed and reviewed your information, click "Proceed" to enter the virtual waiting room.
  10. Once your provider is ready to see you, your video appointment will begin.
